Not too long ago, Tim made the decision to purchase an AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) to enhance safety at the Lodge. Yesterday, 10 members of the Migis staff (Tim, Sondra, Charity, Kristen, Phil, Amy, Adam, Tyler, Robyn and Scott) attended a day long American Heart Association Adult and Child CPR/AED training and certification class in Boulders. It was an interesting day filled with lots of useful information and lots of practice sessions. The title of this piece refers to the number that was put in our heads over and over - 30 compressions to 2 breaths. The class covered choking, CPR, recognizing signs of heart attack and strokes, as well as thorough practice sessions using AED trainers. We had many laughs, but paid close attention and everyone passed the class, some even getting "gold stars"! We encourge everyone to participate in these important classes. Many thanks to our instructor Dave from Cardiac Science. While we all feel well qualified, we do hope that we don't have to use our new skills!

You Can't Get There From Here...
We all know the old Maine addage "you can't get theah from heah..." which for some first time guests was sometimes a reality for their arrival at the Lodge - but no more! Last week artist Skip Flannagin spent many hours applying a new coat of paint and gold leaf to the Migis sign at the end of our driveway. The results are beautiful and the sign really shines in the sun. You will no longer miss the sign when you are driving down Route 302 (remember to look for it immediatey past the Cry of the Loon Gift Shop!). If you are looking for directions to the Lodge, please either check our website, looking under the "contact us" tab, or call us - we would be happy to help. Please, please, please do not use MAPQUEST to get directions to Migis - the results are inaccurate and will send you via ferry to Frye Island - a beautiful trip but about 5 miles from Migis!
