Memorial Day Weekend Weddings

Memorial Day weekend is always busy at Migis Lodge!  This weekend we are hosting two weddings. The first wedding is for a longtime guest....she has been dreaming about getting married at Migis Lodge since her family began vacationing here many years ago.  Actually - her older brother got married here a couple of years ago.  Their guests are arriving from all over the country to celebrate.  We had hoped for better weather, but it doesn't look good - for the 5th consecutive weekend in Maine.  Fortunately - our guests will be warm and cozy in their lakeside cottages all with fireplaces.

This Weather

Another coastal storm arrived from the mid-Atlantic states this weekend bringing with it an additional inch or so of rain on top of an already very wet spring.  Portland Water District reports that the water level of Sebago Lake is the highest they have ever recorded. The high water doesn't effect Migis very much but it sure would be nice to experience a  little more sunshine. Unfortunately, the forecast is for the weather to stay unsettled with another storm arriving Tuesday.  Of course all this means that we are simply getting our share of rain now so that we and all of our Migis guests can be guaranteed a spectacular, warm, dry, gorgeous summer and fall.  In the meantime, sitting by the fireplace enjoying the Sunday New York Times and ocasionally hearing the loons on Sebago is not too shabby.
