Migis Makes Headlines!
We are all very proud of the recognition that Migis recently received in "Departures" magazine, a publication of American Express. This glowing article was published in the June edition of "Departures" which has a distribution base of over 600,000! The article has really generated a great deal of interest in Migis Lodge - our phones have been ringing off the hook, in fact. The author, Linda Wells, who vacationed with us in August 2004, says "Migis Lodge on Sebago Lake, a 45 minute drive from Portland, is too good to keep secret." She describes Migis as "a spot that sits at the end of a country road on 125 leafy acres...with a group of wood-and-stone cabins clustered near a gorgeous, calm lake... It's a triumph of the fine art of rustic luxury, or luxurious rusticity, with none of the discomfort of actual camping and all of its outdoorsy, wood-smoke pleasure. The indulgences come in 100 percent natural organic form. Such as: air as clean and energizing as pure oxygen, lake water that feels almost creamy against the skin, a wood-fired sauna in a log cabin, a vintage Chris-Craft to ferry you to lunch on a private island, a massage in a tent in the middle of the woods from which, prone on the table, you can hear the wind swish through the trees - a sensation so thoroughly relaxing that it almost makes the massage redundant. Almost." One of the most ironic things about this article is that even though it is in an American Express publication, the Lodge does not accept American Express, or any credit card for that matter! When people ask about this inconsistency, we can only say that they must really like us to have given us this great review in their premier publication. We hope that you will visit us at Migis and see for yourself how special a place our "secret" spot on Sebago Lake really is.
