A Moose On The Loose!

Adam, our cabin boy and bartender, had a great nature sighting yesterday. He was working behind our brand new cottages, Cliffside and Ledges, when he saw a set of huge moose tracks in the woods! He looked around hoping to catch a glimpse, but the moose was too quick. There are always lots of things to see around Migis Lodge - land locked salmon in Sebago Lake, barred owls and peliated woodpeckers in our beautiful white pines, chipmunks, red and gray squirrels all around the grounds, and of course the occasional moose. While we can't guarantee you'll see a moose while you are vacationing at Migis, you can always check them out at the Maine Wildlife Park in nearby Gray. Keep your eyes open - and let us know what you see!

Hey everyone at Migis! Love reading the blog, what a great idea. We will be going up in 2 weeks. Mom and Dad (Joyce and Al) will be at Migis then. We look forward to seeing everyone! You are right, there is nothing like breakfast on the Point, the cool air, the smells, everything -- doesn't get much better than that!! I have to say, I would love to see a moose; most I've ever experienced is the skunk families living under the cabins!! (Hi - Amy, Phil,+ Jed) Take care -- Jodi

If you happen to see a moose, and a moose sees you, don't be surprised if he runs towards you! Moose are known for being near sighted.
