Spring has sprung on Sebago Lake
We're looking out at Sebago Lake...it's pretty clear that the ice will be leaving soon--it's starting to turn that slate blue color that preceeds ice-out. And none too soon. It was a gorgeous snowy winter, but it's time for spring!! Monday the housekeepers will be opening the cottages, the plumber will be turning on the water, Phil and Colby and Scott will be uncapping the chimneys, and soon some serious raking will begin. It is always amazing how much havoc winter can wreak on the property, but it is equally amazing how quickly our energetic staff (with the help of local kids during their vacation week) can put it back to its serene and charming summer look.

April rains have brought life streaming back into Migis' landscape. Everyday now the spring sunshine breeds a richer shade of green on the waterfront lawns. As the lake recedes slightly from its "full pond" stage, the combination of deep lake blue and the brillantly colored flowers of the gardens create the perfect setting for what will certainly be another magical summer on Sebago. It's still very quiet around here, but when you walk the paths you can almost hear the laughter of kids on the main dock and the cheers of friends and family as someone gets up on waterskis for the first time. Just another few weeks now, and Migis will be alive with all the people who make it such a special place.
